This 2015 Cristal from Maison Louis Roederer is chalky in character and has great ageing potential. This champagne is a deep yellow colour with bright highlights and ultra-fine, dynamic effervescence. The intense and concentrated bouquet reveals aromas of white peach and mirabelle plum, combined with delicious toasted notes of hazelnut and roasted almond. On the palate, the wine is concentrated, energetic and vibrant. It has a silky, almost oily texture with sweet flavours of candied citrus and iodine spices, which then give way to pure, precise, chiselled freshness. The mouth-watering finish is supported by slightly woody, sappy and saline notes, which simultaneously impart sensations of delicacy and concentration.
