With barely 10% of his vineyard planted to Chardonnay, one might have expected our winemaker not to risk making a blanc de blancs. After all, the white wines of the Marne Valley have long been relegated to second place, somewhat overshadowed by the Côte des Blancs and its legendary chalk.
But Thierry Fournier has done just that with this Chardonnay from Nesle-le-Repons and Œuilly. This marly terroir produces a mineral, round Chardonnay. The elegant finesse of a mature Chardonnay blends with aromas of white fruits and subtle notes of pastry from a very long ageing in the cellar (base 2012). An extra-sparkling champagne (4g/l) of elegance for your best moments, from aperitif to meal.
