The Phulia Wines venture began in 2013, started by two friends, João and Luís, who, while still students in Coimbra, decided to reinvigorate neglected vineyards in the Lima Valley within the Vinho Verde region. Their production centres on grape varieties such as Loureiro, Arinto, Alvarinho, Vinhão, and the more recent and international Sauvignon Blanc. Despite being a small project, Phulia Wines has earned acclaim for its exceptional wines that reflect the most Atlantic characteristics of the region.
Phulia 100% Loureiro Branco epitomises a wine with floral aromas, fresh tropical fruit, and heightened minerality. The palate mirrors these characteristics with fresh fruit and vibrant acidity. It stands as a somewhat austere representation, not excessively exuberant but undeniably youthful.
As a true Loureiro Atlântico, this single-varietal wine undergoes complete destemming and fermentation in stainless steel. It presents itself as a fresh and subtly dry wine, marked by primary aromas, predominantly floral with hints of tropical notes. The palate is full, delivering a fresh and persistently vibrant finish.
