Domaine Matassa Olla Rouge 2023

"Olla is a cuvée of old vines of Grenache Gris, Grenache Noir and Macabeu, harvested in a specific area where Tom focuses on showcasing the unique characteristics of the Catalan terroir. The grapes were fermented as whole bunches for two weeks in concrete vats, which helped to preserve the integrity of the fruit while adding structure to the wine. After fermentation, the wine was aged for eight months, allowing it to develop depth and complexity.
This is a well-structured red wine with prominent strawberry notes, complemented by a light earthiness and balanced acidity. It embodies the vibrancy and authenticity of the Catalan region and is a fine representation of the area's rich winemaking tradition.
