2015 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac
Robert Parker 96+/100
Château Lafite Rothschild is a Médoc estate of 178 hectares, including 103 hectares of vines, located in the commune of Pauillac and producing wine under the appellation of the same name. It produces one of the most prestigious and famous Bordeaux wines in the world.
Château Lafite Rothschild is a 'premier grand cru' according to the official 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines. It shares this rare distinction with Châteaux Margaux, Latour, Mouton Rothschild and Haut-Brion, and has a very dark colour with violet reflections, indicating its great youth.
On the nose, the wine is still discreet, which is classic after only a few months in the bottle. But we can already detect great depth and complexity. Notes of fresh strawberries and tobacco in which the oak is perfectly blended.
