James Suckling - 96/100

The Giraud family has been established in Champagne since 1625. Henri Giraud is a family business run by the 12th and 13th generations of winegrowers. His vineyards cover about thirty hectares: 10 hectares of his own, plus 20 hectares leased from family and friends. Far from the simplistic view of buying for the sake of buying, the company prefers long-term relationships with its partner winegrowers. Annual production is therefore in the region of 250,000 to 300,000 bottles. A brand new winery will allow us to increase production further, but not at the expense of quality.
In the cellar, vinification is as natural as possible and malolactic fermentation is systematic. The house has a number of strong points: a perpetual reserve started in 1990, exceptional work on the oak barrels, low pressure in the bottles (which produces very fine bubbles).
Grape varieties: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay
Tasting notes:
The intense golden colour reveals brilliant reflections that promise an expressive bouquet. The nose is marked by the voracious aromas of ripe fruit. On the palate, there is a fine balance between the fruity aromas and the honey notes, leading to a fresh, elegant finish with a fine effervescence.
