Adega Viúva Gomes Tinto is a brick red wine with pronounced tannins that soften with age. It has aromas and flavours of black fruits, cherries and forest, with an Atlantic and balsamic character. The wine has a dry structure and light acidity.
The winemaking process involves fermentation in stainless steel vats with 30% of the lees, which adds complexity and structure. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 2 years in used French oak barrels, followed by a further 6 years in exotic wood casks.
This wine is made from 100% Ramisco, an indigenous grape variety of the region, which comes from untreated vines planted on sandy soils. These vines benefit from natural protection against common diseases such as phylloxera. The result is a wine that reflects the unique terroir of the region, offering complexity, elegance and a true expression of its place of origin.
