The 2015 Dizy Terres Rouges cuvée is made from a selection of grapes from plots on the lower, east-facing slopes of Dizy. This terroir is characterised by deep, chalky, reddish-brown soils over a chalky clay subsoil, giving the wine its characteristic minerality. The vineyard, planted in 1993, consists of 12,000 Pinot Noir vines, pruned using the Cordon de Royat method, which allows better aeration of the grapes and greater concentration of aromas.
2015 began with a mild, rainy winter, followed by hot weather and drought until mid-August. The end of the season was marked by alternating hot and cool spells, which favoured an even ripening of the grapes. Harvested on 15 September 2015, the grapes were perfectly healthy, with a harmonious balance and exceptional aromatic concentration.
In order to preserve the pure expression of this unique terroir, the grapes were vinified and matured on the lees in tanks, without filtration or fining. This method allows the richness and depth of the Pinot Noir grape to be fully expressed. This Brut Nature reveals all the authenticity of Dizy Pinot Noir.
