Las Vedras Limo Tinto 2021

In Las Vedras, where Pedro and Sónia cultivate several ancient vineyards in the midst of green hills under the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, the winds blow as vibrantly as in Las Vegas. Their vineyards cover a total of 2.5 hectares, with vines between 30 and 80 years old, planted in clay-limestone soils. These vineyards are located in Torres Vedras, in the Lisbon region, Pedro's home town. The wines are named after the localities where the vineyards are located: Pero Negro, Portela do Bispo, Barro and Dois Portos - places rich in cultural heritage and significance.
In their cellar, Pedro and Sónia use artisanal and natural winemaking techniques, similar to playing a hand of poker with a deck of cards. Their approach involves minimal intervention, with low sulphur additions, prolonged ageing in used wood and bottle aging to produce precise, mature and delicate wines. Each bottle reflects the true expression of its terroir, highlighting the diverse characteristics of the different vineyard plots. Their aim is to honour the region's rich viticultural heritage and deliver wines that hit the jackpot - bringing out the true essence of the land.
