Henri Giraud Argonne 2017 is a vintage champagne produced by Henri Giraud in the Äy region of Champagne. Henri Giraud is a long established champagne house currently run by the 13th generation of the family, Emmanuelle Giraud-Patour. The house owns approximately 10 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Pinot Noir on chalky soils, while also sourcing fruit from selected growers. The Cuvée Argonne is a harmonious blend of the remarkable terroir of Aÿ and the oaks of the Argonne forest. Sourced from two plots, 'Les Valnons' for the Pinot Noir and 'Croix Courcelles' for the Chardonnay, both in the heart of Aÿ, this blend is vinified in new oak barrels from the Argonne forest. The result is a champagne of remarkable aromatic intensity and unparalleled complexity. "This is a powerful yet elegant wine with a wealth of citrus freshness, blood orange and grapefruit, as well as toast, dried citrus flowers, white lavender, cloves, cardamom and spices. Tight and driven, with so much mineral freshness and focus. Very dense bubbles. Endless finish. This will age incredibly well, but you want to drink it now.
