In 2018, we experienced a long, slow ripening season, which allowed our vines in our best plots to produce grapes with an exemplary balance of acidity and tannins. Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Nacional thrived in these ideal conditions, producing perfectly ripe fruit. With such exceptional raw materials, we decided to keep intervention to a minimum and let the grapes speak for themselves. We left them to ferment in our lagares, following the most traditional methods of the region. The wine was then aged in a combination of new and second year French oak barrels, allowing it to express its purity and character to the full.
