António Marques da Cruz personally oversees every aspect of the creation of this true auteur wine, a dedication that is evident in its exceptional quality. Located in Portugal on the limestone slopes of the Serra d'Aire, Quinta da Serradinha takes full advantage of the mild Atlantic climate to produce wines with refreshing minerality and considerable ageing potential.
This white wine is made from Arinto and Fernão Pires grapes, planted in 1995 and grown using organic methods. The southern exposure of the vineyard enhances the quality of the grapes. The must is fermented on the lees and refined by a process known as bunging, an adaptation of an ancient Roman technique described by Virgil. The result is a unique, full-bodied and complex white wine.
The wine is then aged for 11 months in the same barrels, resting on fine lees to further develop its character and depth.
