2021 Nicolau de Almeida Quinta do Monte Xisto Tinto 1.5 L

Quinta do Monte Xisto is made with grapes from our best plots, some of which face north and some of which face south. This creates a balance between structure and body, and elegance and acidity.
It is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Sousão grapes.
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the cellar in 20 kg boxes. They are vinified in 'lagares' using the foot treading method. Fermentation takes place over approximately six days in the lagar with indigenous yeasts. This is followed by an 18-month stage in 2,000-litre and 600-litre barrels.
