The 2006 Clos d'Ambonnay cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, which are harvested from a tiny enclosed plot in the heart of Ambonnay. This Grand Cru village is renowned for its chalky, clay-limestone soils, which create the perfect conditions for the grapes to ripen.
The harvest on 21 September 2006 produced grapes of exceptional concentration. The wines were then aged for over 15 years in Krug's cellars, developing extraordinary aromatic complexity and finesse. As with all Krug champagnes, this cuvée has not been fined or filtered, thus preserving its authenticity and unique character.
