The Boango vineyards are situated in a picturesque spot along the road to São João da Pesqueira, boasting an enchanting landscape of gently terraced shallow valleys. Here, Hugo Oliveira e Silva meticulously cultivates the grapes that form the backbone of his wines - Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
For the Boango Tinto, the grapes undergo a meticulous process. Handpicked, they are delicately crushed along with their stems in granite lagares within the historic winery nestled amidst the vineyards. The traditional method of foot-treading is employed, enhancing skin maceration and delicately extracting flavours. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine matures in French oak barrels for 24 months before being bottled.
The result is a wine of profound, rich purple hues, exuding a bouquet of ripe plum, raspberry, violet, mint, cassis and coffee. On the palate, the wine unfurls with a velvety texture, displaying a harmonious interplay of fresh and balanced acidity, well-rounded tannins, and a lingering finish.
