Vadio Wines is a family-run winery in Portugal's Bairrada region, established in 2005 by the married couple Luís Patrão and Eduarda Dias. Luís is an acclaimed winemaker who is dedicated to preserving the traditional elements of Bairrada’s indigenous grape varieties, producing wines that authentically reflect their terroir. Meanwhile, Eduarda oversees the day-to-day operations, ensuring the winery runs smoothly. Luís’s father, Dinis Patrão, leads the viticultural efforts with a deep passion for organic farming. Situated in the village of Poutena, 120 miles north of Lisbon, Vadio encompasses thirteen vineyards spread across ten hectares. The winery practises organic farming to maintain the health of its land and vines, thereby contributing to the region’s biodiversity sustainability. Vadio is renowned for producing classic DOC Bairrada wines, particularly red wines made from the Baga grape, as well as some of Portugal's finest sparkling wines.
