Henri Giraud Fut de Chene MV19 Ay Grand Cru Brut CX Individual
Henri Giraud Fut de Chêne MV19 is a non-vintage champagne produced by Champagne Henri Giraud in Aÿ, France. The house's flagship cuvée, Fût de Chêne is a blend of Pinot Noir with a smaller proportion of Chardonnay, using the 'Petit Pinot' clone of Pinot Noir grown exclusively in Aÿ since 1804. Fermented and matured in oak, this iteration using the 2019 base wine offers a rich, textured expression of the Grand Cru Aÿ fruit. It was aged on the lees for four years prior to disgorgement. "The MV19 is a very sexy wine. Bright and enveloping, the 2019 shows a lot of maturity from the vintage, but also a good bit of energy. Lemon confit, marzipan, fresh white flowers, mint, mandarin peel and dried flowers give nuance throughout. There's a great presence here, in the more relaxed style that has become the norm. The dosage is 5 grams per litre.
