2021 Nicolau de Almeida Quinta do Monte Xisto Oriente

O Quinta do Monte Xisto Oriente is a wine produced from two small plots facing east. The exposure of the vineyards and the grape varieties used give rise to a fresh, light wine with elegant notes of spice and a less intense colour.
One of the plots is Tinto Cão and the other is Tinta Francisca.
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 20 kg boxes. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, followed by 18 months' ageing in 600-litre barrels.
