The Malvasia de Colares variety, native to the area, is planted on ungrafted vines in sandy soils, which provide a natural defence against external pests such as phylloxera. Its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean means that it is exposed to salty sea breezes all year round, with mild temperatures and low thermal amplitude. The frequent and concentrated fogs of the Serra de Sintra keep the humidity constantly high.
It has a light brick colour, of medium concentration. A light wine with hints of black fruits, cherries and forest. High acidity and tannins, with a dry texture.
Fermentation in stainless steel, with an open-spout system, followed by ageing in used French oak barrels for 10 months.
