Made from vines planted in 1952, this wine is a blend of grapes, with the Baga variety dominating. The blend contains 65% white grapes, mainly Fernão Pires and Bical, with around 5% of other red varieties, including Tinta Miúda, Castelão, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouchet. Fermentation took place in open wooden vats for 12 days, followed by 20 months' ageing in 600-litre barrels. The wine was then aged in the bottle for three and a half years.
