The Clos Bonifata line is a testament to the purity, respect, and uniqueness of the Clos Bonifata terroir, situated in Ervedosa do Douro at an elevation of 600 metres – a journey from the vineyard to the glass.
Immaculate soil cultivation is achieved through annual crops meticulously carried out with horses. Purity in the wines is the outcome of fermentations with minimal interventions, occurring in a concrete vat with a rare and innovative spherical shape. This vat is exclusively constructed with the incorporation of soil from Bonifata's own terroir.
Respect is embedded in agricultural practices throughout the vegetative cycle of the vine and in the winery, incorporating principles of viticulture and biodynamic oenology. This includes adherence to the lunar calendar, consideration of flower days, fruit days, root days, leaf days, application of biodynamic preparations, and plant macerations.
Uniqueness is found in the location of the Bonifata vineyard, enclosed by stone walls in the likeness of a Clos. It is also in proximity to small forests and bushes, fostering biodiversity. Clos Bonifata uniquely integrates fruit trees, creating a distinctive ecosystem.
