Quinta Várzea da Pedra is a captivating family venture situated in the western region of Portugal, precisely in the vicinity of Óbidos and Bombarral. Nestled between the Óbidos Lagoon, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Serra de Montejunto, the vineyards benefit from a unique location that infuses the wines with freshness, minerality, and acidity. The current custodians of this quinta are brothers Tomás and Alberto Emídio, who inherited the estate from their family. Their dedication and passion led them to embark on the journey of producing exceptional wines. Notably, the labels adorning the bottles draw inspiration from the century-old quinta's tiles, adding a touch of historical charm. Interestingly, these labels are meticulously designed by Tomás Emídio, who brings his expertise as a trained designer into this artistic aspect of the winemaking venture.
The vineyards predominantly feature the Arinto and Fernão Pires grape varieties for the whites, whilst Syrah and Touriga Nacional take centre stage for the reds—all sourced from their own vineyards.
