2022 Patrick Javillier Meursault Les Tillets
Tillets was a medieval form of lime, a tree often found around vineyards. The site called "Les Tillets" is located above the hills of Meursault, close to the forest.
Situated close to the forest and facing south-south-east, it is one of the extremities of the Meursault hillsides; the soil is brown limestone, interspersed with clay and hard limestone. The wine is made from 6 plots of land in close proximity to each other and the age of the vines ranges from 30 to 70 years.
The wine has a characteristic bouquet with hints of white flowers, white and yellow fruits and a light spicy note, all in all complex and very elegant; in the mouth it is full-bodied, powerful and mineral with a fine aromatic freshness. A delicate wine, it has a long finish and a certain underlying robustness, and its style can be described as between a classic Meursault and a typical Puligny-Montrachet.
