Tiago Teles and António Marques da Cruz discovered this hidden treasure: fragmented vineyards on the slopes of the Montejunto mountain range, dominated by the town of Vital. In an area of historic vineyards that are still farmed conventionally by the region's traditional winegrowers, they began changing their techniques to organic farming. They use only natural fertilisers and are regenerating these large vines on Jurassic limestone soils, just 15 km from the Atlantic Ocean. The VO-Vital comes from one of the six historic, small-scale vineyards that make up Vinha do Outeiro, with vines aged between 35 and 50 years. With the help of the Atlantic's influence, they produce cool-climate wines that perfectly reflect their origins. This version of the grape has the skin left in contact with the juice for eight days, raising the wine's aromatic profile and giving it tension, energy and depth.
