Champagne Laherte is a prime example of a small, family-run business producing excellent-value grower champagnes of impressive quality and with great attention to detail. Founded in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte, the winery is now in the hands of the seventh generation of the family, represented by winemaker Aurélien Laherte. The Lahertes have a total of nine hectares of vines, distributed across seventy different parcels. This gives Aurélien plenty of freedom to craft unique cuvées that capture the character of the local terroir.
The family’s vineyards are primarily planted with Pinot Meunier, a variety that attains a special beauty in the Épernay and Chavot area, where the winery is based. The family insists on working their land in harmony with nature wherever possible, and many of the plots are farmed biodynamically to help preserve them for future generations.
This elegant rosé Champagne is crafted from 100% Pinot Meunier, giving it a vibrant, deep salmon hue and punchy structure. The grapes are sourced from older vines planted in limestone and clay soils, and a very low dosage is added before corking to allow the terroir to shine through. Red fruits and hints of vanilla spice define the aroma, while the first sip reveals bright freshness, smooth bubbles, and a pure, clean finish with a hint of minerality.
