Filipa Pato Flos Castanea Branco 2022

Flos Castanea is an inspiring and distinctive wine made from 100% Bical grapes, with a deep connection to Portugal's biodynamic traditions. The 40 year old vineyard is located in Óis do Bairro and benefits from the strong Atlantic influence and the limestone slopes of the Lower Jurassic.
This wine has an intense straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights and a remarkable viscosity. On the nose it has a mineral character with smoky undertones thanks to the limestone soil. The aromatic profile reveals floral notes of chamomile and thyme flowers, as well as pear, hazelnut, almond and pine, which add complexity. After some time in the glass, hints of thyme and honey enrich the bouquet.
The palate is creamy and supple, with intriguing minerality and a spicy flavour that lingers with a long, satisfying finish. As this wine ages in the bottle, its flavours will continue to develop, making it a flavoursome and thought-provoking experience for those who enjoy complex biodynamic wines.
