Tarlant Cuvée Louis Brut Nature 1996

The Louis cuvée from Tarlant is a champagne steeped in emotion and tradition. It is made from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir grapes, which are grown in Les Crayons in Oeuilly on 65-year-old vines. It was vinified in oak barrels that had previously held a maximum of four wines and underwent no malolactic fermentation. The very low dosage of 3 g/L allows the full complexity of this Extra-Brut champagne to shine through. The Louis Cuvée boasts a golden yellow colour with amber highlights.
It is a generous, expressive champagne with ripe, indulgent aromas and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is superbly smooth and complex, developing honeyed notes carried by beautiful vinosity. This is a superb cuvée for ageing. It is the perfect accompaniment to fine dining.
