Heinrich's Roter Traminer Freyheit wine is made using grape bunches from vineyards with soil composed of fossil-rich, calcareous sandstone and eroded shale. These vineyards are located on the eastern 'Kollern' slope of the Leitha Mountains in Breitenbrunn.
Harvesting is done by hand at the end of August. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, with the must macerating for 19 days with its skins.  The resulting wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for around 17 months on its fine lees in 500-litre oak barrels that have previously been used. Finally, the wine is bottled without filtering or adding sulphur.
Freyheit means freedom, and this Heinrich Roter Traminer Freyheit wine offers light-hearted simplicity, an opulence of exotic fruits, and a pronounced hint of fresh hops. While the intense aromas suggest sweetness, the palate reveals a rustic and bright power.
