Tarlant BAM! Brut Nature 2012
In the heart of the Marne and Surmelin valleys on the left bank, Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant, twelfth-generation winegrowers, are at the helm of this beautiful estate. Their rigorous viticultural techniques honour the diverse soils they cultivate, ranging from flinty sand to clay, limestone and pure chalk. Most vinification takes place in oak barrels. Their champagnes are full-bodied yet retain a great freshness thanks to light dosage. The wines are aged for a very long time in the cellar, which gives them depth and complexity.
BAM! is a blended champagne made from 27% Pinot Blanc, 27% Arbanne and 46% Petit Meslier grapes grown in the 'Le Four à Chaux' vineyard in Oeuilly, which has a Lutetian limestone and siliceous terroir.
