Vintage champagnes are a snapshot in time, telling the unique story of a particular year. Benoît Lahaye produces his Millésime Champagne only in vintages he deems exceptional, always from the heart of his Bouzy vineyards. The 2017 Millésime comes from old vines—Pinot Noir planted in 1966 in Monts de Tauxières and Chardonnay from 1960 in Haut des Argentières. The blend is approximately 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.

Fermented in oak barrels without malolactic fermentation, the wine spent over four years aging on its lees before being disgorged in 2023 with a low dosage of 4 g/L, classifying it as Extra Brut. On the nose, it reveals lifted aromas of red fruits, citrus zest, and delicate florals. The palate is precise and driven, marked by tension, layered minerality, and a refined structure that captures the essence of the 2017 vintage. This is a terroir-focused, age-worthy Champagne that will gain complexity for years to come.
