Henri Giraud Blanc de Craie

The NV Blanc de Craie is 100% from Aÿ and Louvois, based on the 2020 vintage. Readers will find a lively, nervous champagne that crackles with tension. Lemon zest, crushed stone, mint and white pepper are all well defined. I really like the energy and tautness here. In fact, this is one of my favourite wines in the range. Henri Giraud Blanc du Craie NV is a non-vintage, blanc de blancs champagne produced by Henri Giraud in Aÿ, France. Founded in the 17th century in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ, Champagne Henri Giraud is one of the oldest family-run estates in the Champagne region. The estate is run by Claude Giraud, the 12th generation of the Giraud-Hémart family and a vigneron particularly renowned for his skill with Pinot Noir. Blanc du Craie is a blanc de blancs made from a blend of Chardonnay from the Montagne de Reims. It contains 10% reserve wine from the Grand Cru vineyards of Aÿ. Fruity and floral with elegant aromas of peach, lemon verbena and honeysuckle.
